Qatar 2022 to the Americas 2026: Creating Connections and Opportunities between FIFA World Cup Tournaments
With the 2022 FIFA World Cup quickly approaching, Qatar is making many preparations to host the largest sports tournament in the world. In addition to three stadiums having already been inaugurated and five in progress, the country is heavily investing in infrastructure, tourism & hospitality, transportation, and other sectors to accommodate the sporting event. Qatar is hoping to build a sports sector worth $20 billion before the tournament which includes a unique cluster of businesses such as service, legal, education and training, sportswear, and equipment companies.

The US, a key partner in Qatar's economic growth, will be hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup along with Canada and Mexico. As the economic partnership between the two continues to grow, these events will create even greater business opportunities and synergies. This webinar will provide an overview of the regional and global impact of hosting the FIFA World Cup, including similarities and differences between the World Cups in Qatar and North America, as well as the economic impact and business opportunities of hosting the world's most prestigious football tournament.

Opening Remarks from:
• Sheikha Mayes Al Thani, Managing Director of USQBC Qatar Office
• Dr. Ahmed Dallal, Dean of Georgetown University in Qatar

• Dr. Danyel Reiche, Visiting Associate Professor, Georgetown University in Qatar
• Dr. Simon Chadwick, Professor and Director of Eurasian Sport at Emylon Business School
